Lab in a Lorry was co-founded by the Institute of Physics and the Schlumberger Foundation in 2004. The programme was developed to help address concerns about the long-term supply of scientists and engineers in the UK & Ireland, and to increase the public’s support for, and engagement with, science. The Lab in a Lorry programme has benefitted from a variety of partnerships and operates regionally based on the available funding.
